Planned to do a quick solo VFR cross-country flight from KROA to KDAN. Ran into some haze over Smith Mountain Lake. Couldn't see the required distance, so returned to KROA.

Working on soft field landings, no flaps landings, combination of short, soft and no flaps landings. Then off to the practice area for some brief maneuver work. Power off/on stalls and climbing turn
Slow flight, unusual flight attitudes. A few stalls and a few landings. Emergency landing - power-off on downwind, short field landing, and one normal landing.
More Landing practice. Power-off on downwind, no-flap landing, and a go-around, plus a couple normal landings.. felt good, cold and clear today, 14F, 4kt @ 330, used RWY 36.

A little time "under the hood". I spent some time with the "foggles" on today.. not bad at all. Missed my headings a few times.. but overall it went well. Lots of wind.
Sunset drive down to Florida for cheap booze, beautiful sunset over white sand and sea oats! About as cold as it gets down here on the Redneck Riviera, ice in the bird bath this morning....
We had planned to go to KPSK, do some touch and go work and return to KROA. Turbulence had other ideas, so we turned around and went back to KROA before reaching KPSK.
I got up early this morning and did the 1000 steps at Dandenong Ranges National Park. There were quite a few people doing the lcimb this morning. Great workout and there are plaques along the way de
Took my brother and grandmaw flying for their Birthday. Flew over Richmond then out west with my brother. Then flew with my Grandmaw over her house and over her church.
GPS on the iphone doesn't appear to be very accurate when flying. The track just doesn't look like what was done. It shows the flight going over some houses too which it never did. I can understand
I was hoping that Hang Gliding would work well. Not a lot of metal to interfere with the GPS and the speed is not too great. I went up to the site where they were all flying from and spoke to Brian
It was a nice day, felt like going for a bit of a flight around Melbourne. Flew out of Moorabbin in a Cessna. Unfortunately the battery died while I was over Seaford.
